We had to do a Master Copy in my Digital Life Painting class, and I chose to copy Frank Frazetta's
Death Dealer. This is one of my favorite paintings of his, and I thought it would be a good exercise in trying to simulate his brush strokes in a digital medium. I painted this in Corel Painter X, with some color correction in Adobe Photoshop CS2. It was my first attempt at Painter, and I feel like I learned a lot in the process. And what could be better to work on for 10 hours than a guy holding a bloody axe on a giant horse?
